Craft & Create: Garden Stories & Handmade Flowers
In this two-part workshop with artists/educators Darrian Nosworthy and Areli Castillo, children will first paint garden story stones, using smooth rocks and colorful paints to create symbols of things they see on the farm (e.g., a tomato, a bee, a cloud). These stones will be used in a group storytelling circle to inspire imagination and sequencing. In the second activity, children will observe real flowers growing around the farm, then use wooden sticks and tissue paper to craft their own paper blossoms. They’ll arrange these into a bouquet to take home — a keepsake inspired by the day’s discoveries. This workshop is for kids aged 4-9.
